Magic Mushrooms Treat Major Depressive Disorder

Shining Light Into the Dark

Research, Statistics, Relevant Data…

Psilocybin-assisted therapy has shown some pretty quick results for depression, with improvements popping up in just days to weeks. For example, in one trial with 52 people, 54% saw their symptoms go away by day 14! Another trial with 104 folks found significant benefits lasting up to 43 days.

When we looked further down the road, one group dealing with major depression showed 75% response and 58% remission after a whole year. And for those struggling with treatment-resistant depression, the best results were found with a dose of 25 mg—37% had a response and 29.1% were in remission after just 3 weeks in a trial with 233 participants.

The coolest part? The benefits were strongest when psilocybin was given alongside prep work, supervised dosing, and follow-up.

Most folks will agree that we’re living in ‘dark times’ in the USA. Humans are resilient and resourceful, however. Studies also reflect how many millions are reaching out to Psychedelics for relief. Personally, I see enough solid evidence that we don’t have to wait for science to shine the ‘green light’ that Psychedelics can assist in relief from depression and anxiety for many adults.

We do know that Psychedelics are not addictive and have minimal adverse side effects like nausea, dizziness, and mild headaches. Classic Anti-depressants side effects are weight gain, sexual dysfunction, insomnia, nausea, and emotional numbness.
